BUFFALO PROJECTS
|
After the transfer of the club to Abuja, Buffalo FC will gradually work on developing some projects after we finish to settle some logistical problems: First of all, we will try to improve the training of the local sport educators, through some courses under the responsibility of foreign confirmed experts. 2 ways will be explored: one via the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and another one via private clubs in Europe, who could invite some of the local coaches abroad, by providing a more professional approach of high level sports and insisting in the grassroots development. In a close collaboration with some professional clubs in Nigeria, like Kano Pillars or FC Abuja, more serious structures have to be put in order with a real program towards youth. Some very young good players could start with Buffalo then play later in pro with a bigger club. It is necessary to convince the FCT government to create big high quality sport structures in the capital. Buffalo could benefit from it and his players could progress in better conditions. The search of other financial means will be necessary: Sponsoring by some
companies and banks in Nigeria, Outside the field, we will need to resume at the same time our education program, a chapter that was a bit neglected last year. We have to look for serious and competent teachers for the different courses. We can start with English, French and computer science inside the premises of a partner school. A sustainable development Some commercial activities In a near future, we intend to involve the club of supporters to run some activities that can bring income to the club: Some ideas have already come out: the creation of a real shop that sells sport equipement, the running of a small commercial road transport agency, the control of the sale and the distribution of water in some undeveloped areas through a bore-hole, an internet cafe cinside the school that will be open to outsiders sometimes in the day.... A partnership with foreign sport institutions and private clubs These foreign partners can
invite our best players
to receive a training course abroad
for a short period when they can be on trial as well, or
to take part of an international youth tournament to be more exposed. The
officials of these clubs can also come and screen some very young talents.
They will help them to progress in better conditions here in Nigeria before
some of them could get the
opportunity to play there in the future if these players have reached the
necessary level. A Sport academy Some tighter links could be developed with
the Nigerian Ministry of Education, by
creating a Sport and Study center, with an adapted timetable for training
sessions and matches. The local education authorities would be in charge of
the application of the school program and the recruitment of the teachers.
The French government, through
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs could assist with the French courses
included in the school program of the students. It could
provide equipment and qualified staff
specialized in this kind of sport and study infrastructure.
The different courses offered could display the dynamics of
football as a motivation for learning. The courses would take place, first,
inside the premises of an existing school, where
some special sport sections will be added. |
This project can be explored in the future as a means of developing cooperation between France and Nigeria in the field of education and sports. In fact, the Sport and Study Academy could be a kind of final achievement for the different projects that have been organized inside Buffalo since the beginning in the field of sports, social development, health and education...
